花了几天时间断断续续总算是把《成就爱》给看完了。书的内容是曾经担任某时尚杂志主编的果子，突然发现自己得了乳腺癌，在此之后的心理历程和日常生活的种种。
I spend several days to finish the book To Accomplish Love. This book is about the daily life and mental experience of a woman Guozi, who once was a fashion magazine editor, and found that she had breast cancer.  
 
我并非没有接触过癌症的人，老太太的盲人朋友之一Ginne就是癌症患者，我也见过她好几回，帮她导盲去听歌剧。我深刻记得她鼻子里凝住的血和苍白的脸色；我也深刻记得她来参加Peggy的生日晚会时候，不舒服沉静的样子。那天下午她刚做完化疗。没有看果子的书之前，我对做过化疗的痛楚一无所知，而我当时仅能做的就是在领着她走下车子，走向她住的地方的那一小段路上尽量的放缓脚步。但是我没有忘记那些沉重的呼吸声。
I am not that kind of person who never comes into contact with people who have had cancer. Ginne is Veronica's friend, and she suffers from Cancer, but I meet her couple times and helped her to go to the opera. I remember those blood congealed in her nose and her pale face. I remember that night when she attended Peggy's birthday party, she looked quiet but painful. She just finished her chemotherapy that afternoon. Before I read this book, I really don't know how much pain people need to suffer from chemotherapy, but what I can do at that time is: guide her to get out of the car, slow down and lead her to her apartment. I really cannot forget her deep breath...
 
显然，对待如此的不幸，果子是勇敢的，Ginne也是勇敢的，还有很多很多的人在癌症面前都是勇敢的。
Obviously, Guozi is so brave facing this misfortune, Ginne is brave, too. And there are more people who are brave in the same situation.
 
突然想起HH跟我说过一个故事，她知道一对美国夫妇想到中国来收养一个小孩，结果他们刚到中国，还没出机场，女方接到美国的电话说查出有癌症，于是女方立即定了直接回美国的机票，并且联系美国的医院到机场接人。等她一回到，立马接入医院进行手术。于是为果子感到很不值，如果一开始她立即接受了手术，如果一开始她能不纠结于是否要保住乳房，如果，如果，那么，她是否现在也能健健康康快快乐乐的活着？
I suddenly remembered one story from HH. She said she knew one American couple wanted to adopt a Chinese baby. The time when they arrived in China, the woman got a phone call from a US hospital, and she was told that she had cancer. So the women immediately brought a ticket from China to US, and contacted the hospital to pick her up in the airport. Once she arrived in the US, she was sent to the hostpital and got her operation. Therefore, I feel very sorry to Guozi, if she took the operation at the first begining? If she don't worry too much about keeping her breast?If, If...Then, will she still live happy and healthy now?
 
一个男权的社会，如果女性被塑造成一种特定的形象，诸如要保持外表的漂亮，要保持身材的苗条，要用名牌的包包和花花绿绿的衣服来堆砌出一个女性的身份的话，那么生命真正的意义在这样的社会下显然就被放到了次要地位。
If the society is male-dominated society, then females were modeled to be a certain figure, like you need to keep your pretty appearance, you need to stay in very slim shape, you need to use luxury bag and fancy clothes to make a female identity. In that way, the real meaning of life will be less important.
 
又看到果子生病后在寻觅组织常常未能如愿，就想起每年匹兹堡都有粉红丝带的活动，公园里喷泉的水染成了粉红色，甚至连博物馆前的恐龙也系上了粉色的围巾，穿着粉红T恤的女性流着泪一齐奔跑……这些还仅仅是大型组织。但是像个人的，诸如老太太这些无偿接送那些患癌症的朋友去医院进行化疗，接送他们去参加派对、欣赏音乐的人，更是不胜枚举。
When I read that Guozi cannot find some organizations after she had cancer, it remind me that Pittsburgh has a Pink Ribbon movement every year. The fountain in Point State Park will become pink; the dinosaur in front of the museum will have pink scarf; lots of women who wear pink shirts will jog together...And these still belong to a big organization. For the individual level, there are many people who like Veronica would like to help these people, give them a ride to go to hospital, attend party, enjoy music, etc.
 
想起临近圣诞节的时候，我帮老太太导盲去参加一个盲人的圣诞派对，不管是盲人，健全人，胖的，瘦的，有着浓密的头发的，因为生病头发掉光的，大家都在派对上快乐的气氛中无比沉醉。还有盲人弹起了钢琴，更是一圈人伴着琴声唱起了歌，其乐融融。
When I think of blind people's Christmas party, no matter blind people, healthy people, fat, thin, people with long hair or people without hair because the illness, we all enjoy the happiness in the party. One blind lady played the piano, and lots of people sang according to the melody, with joy.
 
个人需要爱，但是社会更需要爱。或许那些来自于社会的爱的力量，才更加坚定。
Individual needs love, but the whole society also needs love. Those love from the society, will be more powerful.
 
庆幸的是，果子毕竟有一个爱她的人一路陪她走过。什么时候，像果子这样的个人，不用再担心因化疗掉头发而得带上假发，不用再担心穿着病号的服装而引起人们异样的眼神，不用担心医院的医生是否真的是针对病情给予扎实的治疗，不用担心她们找不到同样的组织，不用担心没有爱人的陪伴……什么时候，能有来自于社会和政府的更广阔的爱源源不断的陪伴着那些勇敢的与癌症做斗争的人们呢？
Luckily, Guozi found a man who loved her and stayed with her in her last minutes. But when the situation will help those people like Guozi, help them not to worry about how to put wigs because of losing hair after the chemotherapy; not to worry about the special clothes they wear which caused people's curious attention; not to worry about whether those doctors are using the right way for the patient; not to worry whether they can find support from the similar organization; not to worry about whether they can have a loved one to stay with them....When will these people get more love from the society and government to help them flight cancer?

五点半起床，我们到学校坐了最早一班去澳门的巴士。从广州到珠海这个与澳门接壤的城市是一个半钟，途中，我们看到许多蔬菜田和香蕉园。
We got up 5:30 am, and we went to take the bus to Macao. It took us one and a half hour from Guangzhou City to Zhuhai  City, a city which borders Macao. We saw lots of vegetable farms and banana farms on our way to Zhuhai.

 

我们花了近一个钟头的时间过关，需要先出境，然后再进入澳门境内。XJ简直太好了，她去到关口那边接我们，并且帮我们定了旅馆。把行李放在她的实验室后，我们直接去了黑沙滩。既然到了那里都已经快中午十二点了，我们计划先去那个传说中的著名饭馆解决完温饱问题再行动。最初，只有六个人左右在饭馆前排队；不一会，队伍越来越长，甚至还有人打的就专门为了来这里吃饭。当然，我们的午饭相当棒!我非常喜爱那些海鲜。同时，沙拉酱也很好，吃得出是橄榄油和醋。
It took us almost one hour to get through the custom process. we need to get out of the main land of China, and get in Macao. XJ was so nice to go to customs to pick us up and help us book the hotel. We put the suitcase in her lab, then directly go to Black Sand Beach. Since it was almost 12:00 am when we arrived there, we planed to go to a famous restaurant and have lunch first. At first, there were about six people waiting there in the line, but after a while, the line was getting longer and longer. We even saw some people take a taxi here only for lunch! Of course, our lunch was soooooooo good and I love those sea food. And the dressing for the salad also very good:vinegar and olive oil.

 

吃饱饭足，我们在黑沙滩走了一会。因为这里的沙是黑色的，于是黑沙滩由此得名。老太太走到海水里，我猜要是天气足够暖，她肯定愿意在里面游泳的。至少这里是太平洋，不是大西洋。
After lunch, we had a little walk on the Black Sand Beach. Because the sand here is black, that's why people called it Black Sand Beach. Veronica had a walked in the water. I guess if the weather was warm enough, she would love to swim in the sea. At least here is the Pacific ocean, not the Atlantic ocean.

 

随后，我们在路环的小街道逛荡。我也总算圆了之前没有在这种小街小巷闲逛的心愿。午后的阳光很平静，来自葡萄牙的碎石小路，彩色的外墙和鲜艳的三角梅，让闲逛的人心里很平静。当然，不能忘了的是安德鲁的葡挞和酸奶。（这里发生一桩小事，我在喝酸奶喝到快完的时候，突然发现一只小飞虫。要是在以前，我就会想算了，大事化了小事化小。可是，这会，我不干了。把酸奶拿回去店里，问怎么处理。然后得到另外一杯新的酸奶作为补偿。权利永远都是自己争取来的，而且在争取权利之前还得现有权利意识的萌芽。）
After that, we walked in the little village of Coloane. It was a nice afternoon, the sunshine was so peaceful, and we walked on those pebbles which came from Portugal; we saw colorful walls and beautiful bougainvillea. Everything just made you feel peaceful. Well, one thing you cannot forget here in Macao is egg tart and fruit yogurt from Lord Stow's Bakery.(There is a story when I was drinking the yogurt, I found a little bug in the yogurt. Before, I would think, well, could be worse, and that's it. But now, I took the yogurt back to the store and they gave me a new one. You always need to protect for your right, but before you did that, you need to have an idea bout your right.)

 

我们还去了龙环葡韵，在冉冉的夜色中走到了澳门最大的赌场——威尼斯人。这是我的第二次澳门之行，依旧没有去赌场赌博。我们只是在那些奢华的名店中行走，路易斯威登，迪奥，奥美加，雷达，阿曼尼等等。我们也看到了著名的假天空，还有两个老外在仿造的刚朵拉上划船并且摆姿势给游客照相。老太太怀疑他们是不是刚在美国失了业，然后碰巧到澳门找到这样一份轻松的工作。
We also went to Taipai House museum, then we walked to the biggest casino in Macao----venetian. It was my second trip to Macao, but we still didn't go to the casino for gambling. We walked in those luxury stores: Louis Vuitton, Dior, Omega, Rado, Armani, etc. We also saw the famous fake sky there, and two guy rowing the fake Gondola and posing for visitors to take pictures. Veronica wondered whether those guys just lost their jobs in US and happened to find such an easy job here in Macao.

 

我们入住旅馆的时间大约是晚上11点，结果等我们入住的时候，旅店的人告诉我们由于房源紧张，我们以普通房的价钱得到了海景套房！
We went to the hotel around 11:00 pm, and when we checked in, they told us that the rooms are full, so we just spend a normal room's price but we got a super sea view junior suite！

 

第二天，我们在安德鲁享用了早餐，然后沿着澳门世界遗产线路开始徒步。从妈祖阁开始，我们经过了港务局大楼，郑家大屋，亚婆井前地，西望洋山，一直走到议事亭前地，最终到达大三巴。我们在著名的小吃街免费品尝了许多杏仁饼，猪肉干。然后我们结束了澳门的两天之行。
The second day, we had breakfast in Lord Stow's Bakery, then we walked the"Historical Monuments of Macao". We started in A-Ma Temple,then we passed Moorish Barracks, Lilau Square, Mandarin's House, Penha Hill, until Senado Square; finally we arrived at the ruins of St. Paul's. We had whole bunch free almond cookies and dried pork when we walked in the famous food street. Then we finish our two-day-trip in Macao.

13号接老太太的时候，狂风大作，正在犹豫隔天是否冒雨走西关呢，谁知道却碰上了一个大晴天，回来这么久第一次看见了广州的蓝天，虽然还是灰蓝灰蓝的。

When I picked up Veronica in the airport on Mar 13, the wind was terrible~ I just wondered whether we need to go to Xi Guan on a rainy day, but the other day was a sunny day and I got to see the blue sky since I have came back to GuangZhou, though the color was still grey blue.

 

早上四点半起床，然后去宾馆接老太太，再坐第一班的地铁去西关陶陶居喝早茶。在广州，很多上了年纪的老人都会一早在运动完，上餐馆点个点心，叹个早茶，看看报纸消磨时光。所以要带老太太体验一把，我们点了流沙包、糯米鸡、叉烧包、萝卜糕、黑糯米，甚至还点了凤爪……吃撑了之后，开始走西关。

I got up 4:30 am, then I went to the hotel to pick up Veronica. We took the first subway to a famous restaurant called Tao Tao Ju in Xi Guan for the purpose of drinking morning tea. Lots of old people would like to go to restaurant and have morning tea after morning exercise. They would like to order some dim sum, read the newspaper and kill the time in this way. So I also want Veronica to experience this. We ordered Creamy Bun,Sticky Rice Wrapped in Lotus Leaf, BBQ Pork Bun,Radish Cake, Black Sticky Rice Ball, and we even order Chicken Feet... After the wonderful breakfast, we started to walk in Xi Guan.

 

一大早的，看到小巷子里卖活鸡的，拄着拐杖的老人，开满鲜花的小院，还有在屋角享受阳光的悠闲的猫。

In the early morning, we can see people start the business in the little lane, some people sold the chicken, old gentleman walked on crutch, flowers were blooming in the courtyard, and a lazy cat sit near the wall and enjoyed the pretty sunshine...

 

老太太第一次看到木棉树，看到不用在温室里培养的香蕉树；第一次看到人们折纸元宝，打铁勺。

It was the first time that Veronica saw the Kapok tree, and she also saw the banana trees which does not grow in the conservatory; It was the first time that she saw people making paper ingot and people making scoop.  

 

在西关转了一轮并参观了荔湾博物馆之后（话说荔湾博物馆门口有写65岁以上老人均不用门票，我说，老太太不止65了，卖票的说，要中国人才行。我说，上面也没写中国人外国人的，结果卖票的就让她免费进去了），老太太进入荔湾公园看人们踢毽子，唱歌，然后我们就开始了一轮又一轮的西关的吃……

After we visited some neighborhood in Xi Guan, we paid a visit to Li Wan Museum(I saw the note there that people over 65 can go in for free, I told the guy who sale the ticket that Veronica over 65, but that guy said it should be Chinese citizen that over 65 can go in for free. I said, there is nothing on the notice mentioned about Chinese or Foreigner, so the guy let Veronica in for free) Veronica also went to Li Wan park in order to see people doing morning exercise there, such as kicking shuttlecock and singing in chorus. Afterward, we started to eat those special food in Xi Guan.

 

从食养坊的炖汤、榴莲酥，到新联牛肉肠粉，到开记绿豆沙芋头西米露，再到顺记冰室的椰子芒果雪糕。

We enjoyed the soup and Crispy Durian Cake from Shi Yang Fang restaurant; Beef Steamed Vermicelli Roll in Xin Lian restaurant; Green Bean Paste; Hot Fragrant Porridege and White Potato;coconut and mango ice cream.

 

之后打的到沙面，在暖暖的阳光下走了一圈，碰到了至少八对在拍婚纱照的...

Then we took a taxi to Sha Mian. We had a walk there in the sunshine, we bumped into at least eight couples who were taking the wedding pictures there...

 

夕阳西下，我们每人花了一块钱坐了一班渡轮，杀回中大校园，再带老太太去紫荆园体会了一把功夫汤，然后圆满结束了这一天的行程。

The sun was bending in the west, and we paid one yuan and took a boat to the campus. We had a nice dinner in Zi Jing Yuan restaurant and Veronica got to try the Kongfu Soup ("Kong fu" is not acrobatic fighting here, it means time. Just slow down, take your time to enjoy it). So, it was Veronica's first day in Guangzhou city.

今天师姐对我说，我真羡慕你这样，我太累了。真希望能回到你这个年纪，不用担心工作、家庭、孩子，心无旁骛，能专心做我的论文。

Today, one of my Shi Jie told me: I really envy you, I am so very tired now. I wish I can go back to the age like you, and don't need to worry about job, family, child, only concentrate on my dissertation.
